Blank (blind) portafilter basket
Use this basket to block the water flow from the group head when you're cleaning your machine with a back flush. It captures the water in its shallow, smooth surface and forces it back towards the shower screens. We include a blind basket with all our espresso machines.
Espresso simulator basket
Use this basket to simulate a regular pressurized shot without wasting real coffee. This is a 58mm standard basket with a precisely sized single hole to recreate the effect of a perfectly-ground espresso puck, giving you simulated flow and pressure information.
This basket is useful for testing and perfecting shot profiles on a Decent machine. With a traditional machine, this basket can be used to calibrate the flow rate under pressure.
You can also use this basket to pressure-infuse tea, cinnamon and other aromatics. It accommodates up to 25 grams of material.
0.2mm: 0.8 ml/second at 9 bar
At 9 bar of pressure, the 0.2mm hole size provides a flow rate of 0.8 ml/second. This is similar to a slow and thick ristretto espresso.
0.3mm : 1.6 ml/second at 9 bar
At 9 bar of pressure, the 0.3mm hole size provides a flow rate of 1.6 ml/second, similar to a typical espresso.
An app extension on your machine will automatically find the perfect calibration setting for you.
